Trust Your Intuition
October 5th, 2006
How does one trust the intuition that one receives?
When I do trust it, and things work out, I could literally jump for joy!
Recently, I received a request for a writing project from a client overseas. This client hires me on an ongoing basis to write articles for them on various issues regarding their healing product.
They recently asked me to do extensive research for a product they had not yet developed and are working on. My intuition told me that a lot more work would be involved and that I should ask for additional compensation. So I did.
I came up with a number (intuitively) that I thought would be fair and proposed that they pay me this amount. Then I waited for a reply. And waited. And waited. And waited. I began to have thoughts that perhaps I had offended this client. Afterall, they were from a foreign country. Perhaps I worded my request in a manner that they did not like. I went back and read my email. Not so. Everything was in order and I told them that if they did not like my suggested price, I was willing to negotiate. But something was wrong, It never took them this long to respond.
Should I write back and apologize? Should I lower my price? Should I wait it out. YES, that was the message I received loud and clear. W A I T, Linda. JUST W A I T. So I did.
After a while, I thought I had lost this client- one that I had developed an excellent relationship with.
But I waited. I trusted what I heard. I honored my own guidance.
After what seemed like forever, I received a payment through PayPal for the full amount that I was asking. Poof, just like that. My client had been out of the office dealing with an emergency. It had nothing to do with me or my request. So WAITING and TRUSTING did indeed pay off.
Have you had an experience where you received a strong message that you were supposed to trust, and then paid attention to it. And did it bring joy into your life? Did things just seem to flow?
Please share your experience and comments.
Thank you, blessings and Namaste!
